If you build a big engine cover that looks OEMish can they do anything about it?
Why can't you tell the cop to get a warrant if he wants you to pop your hood?
I have stopped being nice to cops its ever got me out of a ticket. When I get pulled over now I just remember keep cool because he is just going to trick you in to giving up some sorta of info AND TURN EVERYTHING HE SAYS INTO A QUESTION FOR HIM.

Another smog trap today. I was driving home from 60 E. The trap was at Colima Road/Golden Springs between Lemon and Brea Canyon. Looks like the pattern is that both traps were on the east bond. Right in front of the 24 Hrs Fitness.
I called JamesN immediately making sure he is not in my area. Once again, I tried to be a victim but they didnt flag me either. I saw a mid 1990 ES300 was pulled over. Looks like the pattern is east bond on Golden Springs. As you can see they had an EZ-Up so that mean they will be there for a while. I also took a video too. They do pop your hood for visual inspection.
These two events happen one week apart and only one block away from the initial trap I saw.

I see them all of the time in Santa Ana on Edinger. Probably once a month they're set up, slowing traffic for over a mile, and being just totally unnecessary... It's ridiculous.
