Question Nice hiking trails in So Cal?

Just wondering if anyone knows of hiking trails with a nice view when you get to the top. I've been on the Hollywood mountain (in griffith park) and the one in pasadena (aka haunted forest).

Ahhh...a fellow hiker.

Sam Merrill Trail to Echo Mountain.

Take 210 exit Lake and go North. All the way up until you get to a left curve. The trailhead is right at the curve. Park anywhere you can along the street.

Hike is about 6mi round trip. All uphill. The reward is a great view of Arcadia/ Pasadena, and even LA on a clear day.

Have fun!

I've done that Echo hill climb, albeit not for fun but ran it for cross country. From what I remember between the panting and cramps, its a very beautiful trail, both on the way and at the top, should be a nice, breezy trek at a normal walking pace :]

I think Echo Mountain is what youngsters call "haunted forest". Yeah I've been nearly up to the top until some stuff happened.

Probably not in your neck of "So Cal" but I used to hike at Laguna Canyon trails a lot. They have many different paths you can take with one of them ending at Laguna Beach. You can google "Laguna Canyon hike trails" and it'll show you how to get there from where you are. The views up top are really nice and serene (trees, beach, etc.)
