Backyard Creations Autobody
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share the work that Joe and his staff did for me. Sorry, some of the tail lamps had dust on them when I took the pictures.
The tail lights looks darker in the picture than they do in person. I did not want that smoke tint color but more of a deep blood red. Joe explained to me that it has 3 layers of paint including the clear coat and the process took about 3 days to allow each layer to dry.
The tail lamp was not "opened" to remove the amber lens. The multiple coats of red paint washed the amber out that you are not able to see the amber lens nor does it flash amber when signaling.
I wish I had before pictures of the following but Joe noticed that the headlamps were hazy and cloudy looking their age and restored them.
As I said in a previous thread, I highly recommend them They take good care of their customers and they go beyond what is asked of them. So hard to find nowadays.

Joe did a similar thing for me a couple of years ago - I had this idea
about doing a "darkwood" look using a candy black clear. Joe had never
done it before on wood, but I was a willing candidate. I removed all the
wood from the car and took it to him.
A few days of painting & polishing... then re-installation you end up with:
DarkWood!
It's like dark cherry in the sun and almost turns black in the shade.
Still looks great today!

I had my factory spoiler installed at Backyard a few days ago. will post up pics later. Joe is a very helpful and friendly guy. He backs up his work and I definitely recommend him for body work.

Unfortunately I can't say how much it cost me but I'm confident that Joe will give you the same price as he gave me. Joe is fair and reasonable in pricing. Just remember, you definitely get what you pay for. Best suggestion is to call him for a quote. Sorry about that.
Also, it depends on what you specifically would like to get done. If you just simply want to smoke your lights out, it may be a lower price than what it cost me because I had more labor and material to get it the way I wanted it.
It is not removable like those vinyl lay overs. If I want to re-do the tail lights I'll need to bring in another set.

You do have an option of how dark you would like the smoke the tail lights. Just darken them enough but not to the point where you'd attract attention
