I'm seconding Gulliver's, Houstons, Boa, and Five Crowns.

Try Bungalow in Newport or maybe Fleming's (it is a chain and a bit overpriced but you didn't put it on the list). French 75 can do some good steaks also.

If you don't mind brazilian, I think Agora in Irvine is fantastic..

I always go there with my brother after picking him up from LAX red eye flights. That place is great, esp. since they are open 24 hours

I have to say House of Prime Rib in SF would be my opinion also. I have also tried Houstons, Stinking Rose, Mortons, Ruth's Chris, Lawry's, and I have to say House of Prime Rib in SF is very good. Did you know the old Chef from House of Prime Rib opened a Prime Rib restaurant in Burlingame called Broadways.

You guys should try that one also because it got some great ratings also.

yup, heard about that though some still think house of prime rib is better

but i am not sure if i would travel 400 miles for prime rib
