Default Prime Rib...

Any good joints around the OC area? Read all the reviews online, but I want to hear what the locals have to say...I guess I can extend it to all of LA if it's really good and to die for...

Had them all Lawry's, Morton's, Ruth's, Claim Jumper, all the Chains...

Thanks

my fav prime rib is from houston's retaurant. they have several, i have tried irvine and century city. imho they have the best. i tried lawry's as well, but to be honest they cost more and i wasn't very impressed

i have yet to try morton's, but i heard they were much better before and now it's so-so

ruth's, they are good for steaks, do they have prime rib??? i would rather have steaks than prime rib at that place. claim jumper is ok, i have had it several times, they are good but i won't call great. imho it's below the other restaurants mentioned.

there's another steak house in irvine, it's called tuner's or something like that. they are supposed to have some very very good filet mignon. pricey too, but never tried yet

I think you're talking about Turner New Zealand in Costa Mesa? I heard good things about the place and wanted to try it, but it's now closed.

It's not in OC, but the best prime rib I had was in SF... place called House of Prime Rib. The name says it all.

Gotta agree with Henry,
Houston's has one of the best prime ribs, but it could also depend on where you go. Sometimes they are a bit dry, but for the most part, cooked well and very juicy!

I haven't been there in years, but I remember Five Crowns as having some tasty prime rib.

According to Yelp, it looks like their last open day was 3/22. The owner decided not to renew the lease and close down the restaurant.

Glad I had a chance to eat there before it closed, that place was amazing.
