I haven't been to TORC because I always worked weekends, but have always wanted to see the cars in person and meet people with like interests. I am sure that one can go in the morning and still hit the beach or park in time to excercise. Why would you even say that?

forget this gas protest, c'mon now, seriously.
many are striking and protesting tomorrow, does anyone know why and who?

POP QUIZ: if the LA/LGB terminals fully shut down for 1 day, how much of a loss will impact the US?

there's millions of people out there that don't fill gasoline 29 days out of the month.

pay cash, then they can't fix their prices based upon the zip code of the purchaser, and don't have to pay the fees.

THIS IS A TOTALLY AMERICAN THING TO DO, TO BE DUMB LIKE THIS. I'M MOVING TO JAPAN.

Sell the car and ride a bicycle. You'll be immune to buying gas again. Sadly, our infrastructure has spread out from the early days so local markets and work pretty much require a commute.

Speaking of Hapaboy's Japan, the areas we visited, one can get by without a car. Bicycles were common and if you needed to commute, rail was fairly easily accessed. Pretty much everything in need was within 1/2 mile.

There are far too many other issues which are partially related to gas that simply not buying isn't going to effect change. Unless the masses are willing to make major changes in their routines/lifestyles to truly prove they don't rely on gas...a one day "protest" is fruitless. The ironic thing is the price will probably go up and you'll kick yourself for not buying gas that day.

Default Ignorance is Bliss.....

NOT REALLY !

Like others have stated before, to make an impactable different in gas prices, we all have to make certain extended lifestyle changes. Drive less, drive more gas efficient cars. CARPOOL (easiest thing to do esp. on the weekends when your going out, walk, ride a bike, take public transportation, sell your extra cars. Even with all these measures, global demand will still keep gas prices sky high even though the U.S. is probably the greatest per capita oil consumer. Although if a difference can be made and felt immediately, it would be by the American people consuming less gas.

Seriously, I'm not trying to sound arrogant or hate, but some of you guys need to learn some basic macro economics.

Every time I get a gas strike text from one of my friends, I just cringe and I just lose more and more respect for their intellects .
