2. Do you detail engines? (I didn't see that on your 'Services' page).
3. How much can you power-buff paint on a new car before you start to be concerned about the finish/depth of the paint?

Thanks!

Bill
Hey Bill,

A. Holograms are created by a buffer. Someone previously detailed that car and did not know how to use a buffer or used the wrong pads/wax etc...
B. I do not do engine details
C. It all depends on the condition of the new car.

Hey everyone,

Customer wanted to get his car detailed for selling purposes. Car was in bad shape. I couldnt get a good angle to capture the swirls but they were definitely there.

ProcesS:
Wash
Clay
SIP w/ orange pad @ 1700 rpm
106ff w/ white pad @ 1400 rpm
jet seal (GREAT STUFF!!!)

Enjoy!

Thanks very much for the answers John... but regarding the buffing question, and since you have detailed many IS's... when I say new car, I mean straight from the dealer, so the paint is in as good a condition as it gets. My question is simply to find out, since I have a dark color, (Black Sapphire), if I were to have it buffed, say once or twice a year to return the finish to its original swirl-free condition, how long would it be before I might have to start to be concerned about the depth of the paint? My car is always garaged, washed once a week, and waxed, (by hand, by me), about once a month. Just a ball-park estimate is all I'm looking for. I know that there are variables... who buffs it, what they use, how knowledgeable they are, etc.

Thanks again John!

hey I'm pretty new to this stuff but I got a quick question...if your car has swirl marks, are you supposed to wet sand it at all?? the steps shown on this thread seems like wash clay and then different types of polishes with different pads, am i correct? oh yeah and if you're using an electronic buffer (not your hands), how do you get to the hard-to-get parts? (for example the area around the license plate lol)
BEAUTIFUL work btw.
