Ticket says 53 in a 40. No construction zone, just a typical 4 lane street. How much am I looking to take it up the ***?

i would say somewhere in that range or slightly lower.

i got caught doing 20 over and ended up in the 220 range with school and other fees.

You typically look at $12-20/mph over the speed limit.

Weren't they talking thinking about raising all traffic fines to help pay for the financial stupidity in the California Gov. I recently got a ticket (pulled over by the CHP) for no transponder (it was in the Supra) on the 73 toll road, and that fine was $300 So your ticket might be a little higher than you think. Either way, keep us posted when you find out how much it is. I'd like to know.

You couldn't talk your way out of it? I got out of a ticket when I was pulled over by a motor bike cop (and yes they're the worst kind to deal with). I acted all upset and sad when he pulled me over...I guess being a girl has it's advantages.

I have been pulled over 45 times since i got my license 11 years ago. Of those, i got 4 citations: 3 moving 1 fix-it. You just gotta know how to talk to the officer.

My crowning achievement was when i got pulled over on my R6 for 98mph in a 65mph by a motor cop (motorcycle cop). He had the ticket book out and everything - I talked him out of. That's nearly unheard of with the ticket-happy motor cops

It was a friday after work, I was going from Santa Barbara to visit my riding buddies in san luis obispo. I was on my R6 and merged on to the freeway doin about 70mph. A minute later I was passed by a dodge magnum - a corona sponsor car. He was doing about 100mph and i figured i'd found a good speeding partner.

A few minutes later i slowed down to 90; 100mph was just more than i was comfy cruising at. When I slowed down, i noticed a motor cop had someone pulled over on the other side of the road. "Sweet" i thought to myself, theres usually only ever 1 cop on this stretch, so i sped back up.

Fast forward a minute, I happen to look over my shoulder (no mirrors) to change lanes and that cop was 30 yards behind me with his lights on catching up fast. I nearly **** myself - when he caught up, he motioned me to follow him and sped off. I slowed to 65 and eventually caught up to him pulled over on the side behind the corona car.

As i got my helmet/gloves off, he finishes writing the other guy a ticket and walks over to me, book in hand. He starts off admonishing me for going so fast and asks me whyI was in such a hurry. I told him that it was friday and i was excited to see my friends. As i explain myself he looks over my bike and asks where my mirrors, turn signals, and license plate are. I thought fast and (honestly) told him that my bike was setup for the race track and that (not so honest) I hadn't had time to put the street parts back on.

he accepted that answer and said how dangerous it is to ride w/o mirrors. I told him that he was riding dangerously as well.

"I am? How so??" he responded

"You were doing over 100mph to catch up to me and you're not wearing any leather gear except for boots and gloves, if you go down, you're going to get hurt." I told him

He took a moment and said, "We need total mobility and leather is too restricting should we get in a struggle"

"The asphalt is much less forgiving that any fist i've seen. I think you ought to wear more gear, I dont like hearing about fellow riders getting road rash"

He took a moment and sized me up. "You're one to talk, you only have a sweatshirt and jeans on. Those gloves and books don't cover much"

I simply pulled up my sleeve and my pant leg to show i was wearing the race leathers in the pic below. he was impressed that I had on full protective gear. We ended up talking about riding for about 15 minutes before he let me go and asked me to keep it under 80.

I went 64mph the rest of the trip to SLO.

I'm on my r6, the white bike

My ticket for 62 in 45 was $301, same for my roommate w/ 81 in 65. Then my other roommate with like 78 in a 50 was like $400 something.

And this is really recent. Except I got mine off, did a written trial, failed then took to court.
