I live near Santa monica and have a 98 Lexus ES300 that has 125k miles on it & needs strut tower control arms replaced for poor handling & front end noise and don't want to pay the $1400 asked for by dealer.

Any good reccommendations for shops &/or mechanics preferably on west side of Los Angeles for Lexus work, esp on suspension?

I also work near pasadena if anyone knows someone over that way.

Stokes tires to do suspension work. They know their stuff and have all kinds of exotic cars that they work on. Heck, all our editorial staff here at Edmunds.com brings their cars to them so you know they do good work.

For mechanical, I'd bring it to Kondo motors, which is across the way. Their labor rates are extremely fair and they won't recommend stuff that you don't need. Top notch work, but you definitely need to bring the car in the mornings if you need the car turned around while you wait.

Both shops are on Santa Monica Bl. just a few blocks west of Santa Monica Honda.

Well, this is not exactly west LA (S. El Monte) but I strongly recommend Tommy at Musicbox. He installed Eibach springs for me and I am going back for him to install the F-sport sways. Very competitive in pricing.
