You should get a loaner. Check with your service provider.

Otherwise, most of the things they do can be DIY.

They change your A/C air filter, your air intake filter, and oil change.

You can do the A/C and intake filter changes yourself; each are about $30 on fleabay.

Oh crap, I am going to take mine in for the 30k-mile service this Friday as well...

According to Edmunds, the 30k-mile service should cost $246.42 and the things that are supposed to be changed are air filter, brake fluid, cabin air filter, engine oil and oil filter. Check with your dealer to see if they are changing extra stuffs.

i thought most 30k mile service was check this check that, oh ya, and change the oil, LOL and bend you over by charging a lot of money.

my 30k service involves changing the oil, buying my k&n and blitz, changing it myself and call it a day. then when i take my car in for some godly install, have my mechanic check everything else

just my 2 cents

You can do the oil/oil filter, a/c filter and intake filter for about $60-80 if you DIY. You can save yourself a whole lot of money.

I wouldn't even bother taking my car to the dealer for that. Save the money and DIY or get it done elsewhere....Unless you really want to tell the next owner that you did the 30k miles service at the dealer...

Really? The only thing that is required from a replacement perspective at the 30k service is the 1) oil and oil filter, 2) air filter and 3) A/C filter?

Brake fluid or tranny oil replacement is not needed? I have a IS350 btw.

Excellent... I never want to replace anything that isn't necessary.

Thanks!

why would you want to drag your transmission fluid longer than 30k?

sorry but when i changed my tranny fluid during my 30k there was plenty of crap in there.

not saying to go to the dealer for service, but the actual 30k service is supposed to include:
# Replace Engine Oil & Filter
# Replace Transmission and Differential Fluids
# Replace Coolant
# Complete Brake Fluid Flush
# Inspect and Rotate Tires

all of which you could do yourself pretty easily.

there's also tons of shops out there in socal that people recommend that won't get you like the stealership

what fluids did you guys use for the tranny and diff? I'm at 75k on my 06 GS, and though I'd get that stuff changed. Also thinking of Motul brake fluid as well when i swap out my brake for the 07 4 pots.

FYI, a local dealer. Interesting about the life expectancy of some of the fluids:
the 30k service on the IS 350 is $425.00—You will replace

Engine oil and filter

Engine air filter

Inspect and/or replace the A/C filter

Replace brake fluid

Rotate and balance tires

Complete diagnostic check and undercarriage inspections with road test

*your car has the new W/T transmission fluid which want get replaced till 100k

*your car has the new Life Long Coolant which we do not replace till 100k

*your car has the new synthetic rear end gear oil which we do not replace till 90k

Thank you
