Default Driving barefoot: illegal in Cali?

Is this confirmed?

I also have heard that driving with sandals are also illegal (because it can get caught in the pedals) ?

How about if you're wearing socks? Water boots? Fuzzy rabbit footsies?

Last time I did traffic school, this question came up. No. The instructor a retired CHP officer says he is asked that every weekend and he wondered where that rumor started.

He says that you are more likely to be looking at the barrel of the handgun or shot...when you suddenly reach over to get your shoes or such. They view it as you bending down to retrieve a weapon rather than your flip-flops.

how would that even be remotely illegal? thats probably the safest way to drive. You don't have any encumbrances on your foot to pedal connection, or any sandal, boot, or shoelace that could possibly interfere with the application of the throttle.

additionally, you get more sensitivity and better feedback barefoot.

probably the most ideal way to push.
