Default Cheapest Place for Google G1 Phone?

I have had the same phone number and same account for more than about four years with T-Mobile and I have never bothered to get an upgrade phone through them.

Given that I have been using hand-me down broken phones for the last couple years, I really want the G1 Google phone now.

What would be the cheapest place to get it? I know there are tons of cell phone places in Little Saigon.

Is there a way to keep my same number? Or do I have to get a new number for the best deal?

yeah if you keep your number, you'll probably have to sign a 2 year renewal contract and you can get the phone for around $150 i believe.

If you get a new number, you might be able to do a one year contract..

Or you can switch over to ATT, keep your number, and get iphone or the bold.

damn, 150 now? i paid 180 plus some BS upgrade fee and it totaled 207.

btw - if you buy a g1 and submit a request to get it unlocked - they'll do it for you, it just takes time.

here's what t-mobile sent me.

I pulled the trigger and went into the Tmobile store and extended my contract.

I debated heavily between this and the Iphone, in which I would have been able to keep my same old number as well. The endless possibilities of the open source OS and keyboard won me over

I was so upset about this. I pre ordered mine for 149, after upgrade fees and taxes n stuff came out to 197, still not bad but the day they were released the back ordered. Still haven't recieved the phone. Ups said nov 6 though. Sad thing is a female friend of mine heard about it 2 days after release went into a total of 3 t-mobile stores and picked one up there for the same price. Kinda bummed but tis sooooo worth it. the phone is BA
