Me and my friend decided to take a trip from Hacienda Heights to OC to visit a friend in Irvine.
Originally we were going to take Beach Blvd to hit the 5 south and get to Irvine but we had to detour because of the heavy traffic. We were then detoured several times after that for a total driving time of 2+ hours. We got some subway and now we're home with a quarter tank of gas gone. Every major street was jam packed like how rush hour traffic is. There was no shortcut, there was no other route. Besides the 57 freeway from LA to OC, there are only 2 major local roads going into the OC and all of the possible ways to them were massively clogged.
This fire pissed off millions of drivers today.

Look at it this way, your home isn't burning.

My parents home had a mandatory evacuation at around 7:30pm. They took some pics before they left, and it wasn't pretty. From what they told me, they could see fire on the left of the mountain when they were driving down the hill.
very scary... and sad... my parents and their friends are now staying with us now.. they lost their hillside home at 5pm.

You guys who live around the fires or who have family or friends who do, I am so sorry that you are faced with this potential disaster and I hope you all come through it safely. Remember that the property and possessions can be replaced. Please evacuate if you are asked to do so. THis really sucks and it seems to happen every year lately.

Grew up in YL and parents are still there. They evacuated this morning and I've just been watching TV since then. We're very close to the fire area and they keep showing the neighborhoods just to the east and west of us, so I'm just hoping we'll get some news about our area soon.
