RED HALOS and FOGS illegal in california?
Hey guys I am new to the forum and i am going to start modding my 07 is250. However I was looking through some mods and I saw AACSTYLE'S halos and fogs. It looks real nice. Now they have different colors, like red, blue, green, etc. I wanted the red, but I was just wondering if the color red is street legal for the headlight because im pretty sure blue is ok bcuz lots of ppl already have the blue and also blue hids, but u dont see RED ONES around. I also live in california, please tell me if these are street legal or no. thx

i'm pretty sure this would be illegal in any part of the world where cops use red/blue or red/white for their sirens..

oh and one more thing.. since the kelvin temperature is going to be so high for it to be red.. they would be dull as hell

In addition, you are allowed a limit on operating lighting devices while on public streets. Headlights and an accessory like driving-fogs, corner markers, turn-signal. Beyond that, it is a no-no. There are color requirements too as others mentioned. Otherwise, it will fall under non-approved illegal lighting device.
Yellow is ok as the CVCC lists colors must be white, yellow/amber when seen from the front. Check the CVCC for the exact line as there is overlap and this will be at the discretion on the officer if cited.
Above all, if it does not have DOT approval...it is at your own risk. "Off road" lighting device.
