Lexus wants to build a dealership near the auto park where people can dine, attend community meetings and enjoy a collection of water fountains the length of a football field – with the hope that customers may also consider buying a new car.

would this happen to be the one they're building by the 15? Never heard anything like that, sounds interesting, but it doesn't look like it'll get done by the end of this year... but we'll see.

oh wow... that'll be a little far fetched since business is no good and imagine the cost of repairs in that place? haha. I dont think they'll have the money to keep it running.

YES this is happening and is being built right there off the 15 freeway, acorss from the mercedes dealer ..

I had the chance to visit Lexus Escondido today on my way down from Temecula. This place is HUGE and very nicely done. The restaurant and other amenities aren't open yet. Other than the great service (i got a brief tour of the dealership from the manager) and personal attention (i was the ONLY customer ;p) I don't see how the restaurants and meeting rooms can be really integrated into the car-buying experience.

On a side note, i drove my dd...95 es300 and it must have amused the sales staff. Very intimidating to have a wall of 8 people looking at you while you walk across the parking lot and into the front door
