Because it's central for most and there are many safe places to eat and hang out and stay open well past midnight. There aren't very many choices for that in the 562 or 714 unfortunately. I drive out from the I.E. from time to time. Sure it's about an hour drive, but its well worth it to hang out with the guys.

i live in the tri-heights area, and it takes me about a half hour. it's not that far, and gas isn't THAT expensive anymore.

I live in Chino Hills and it honestly isn't that far from me. When I lived in NorCal, meets were consistently 1-1 1/2 hours away from me so 25-30 minutes is a VERY welcome relief.
