Also remember sketchy gas stations do add water to their gas.

That's about the most retarded thing I have heard so far... Please do explain this one maestro....

Are you joking?

Gas comes from refiners. Additives are added to the gas by different gas station brands. Thus your arco gas is different from your chevron gas.

It is my understanding that Arco and Valero are the worst brands you could put into your car...While on the contrary, Chevron/Texaco,Shell,76 and Mobil/Exxon are some of the best and actually help against engine deposits....Although I'm not too sure about Mobil/Exxon....or even 76!

And for the record, Arco sucks for not having a credit card option.

Maybe I should clarify....

Please do explain the "Watered down gas" theory. Last time I checked, cars don't run on water, and gas and water won't mix. So explain this one.....

And please back it up with something more than" my cousin said" for proof.

I have run Shell 91 exclusively since my car was new. Have 55k on the Odo. It would be interesting to see what the internals look like.

FWIW..... I have the shell CITI card and get 5% back on Shell gas and 1% everywhere else. I average about $60 a month in rebates. It's a good deal if you pay the bill on time.

What is wrong with you? Seriously your starting to get on my nerves.

Sketchy gas stations in ghetto areas add water to their gas. That way they make a bigger profit.

No duh your car doesnt run on water but what do you think happens when you dilate gas with water? That mixture will still get pumped into your car. And the car will still run, just very poor.

And yes i have seen it happen before.

OMG..... You seriously think they can add water to gas?

What they can do is add aromatics to stretch it, but this is done at the refinery, not mom and pops stop and rob gas station. It's still petroleum soluble chemicals.

Our "summer gas" has more aromatics because we tend to drive more which equals more product sold. It does lower our MPG as well. But it no way can water be added to gasoline to "stretch it" as you so claim.

What can happened is when a station gets their tanks pumped, the "product" can be re-refined and sold as a second run which mom and pops can buy at a reduced price.

Actually winter gas is the one with worse mpg.

It's called profit for the gas station. They dont care about stretching anything out, just making more money.

Why would anyone do that? It costs money to suck the dirty gas from the bottom of a gas tank. And it costs money to purify that gas of all its impuritys.

It's just cheaper to leave that gas in the tank underground.
