CL Hawaii is doing their own logo and the rules we've laid out are that local club stuff should be done at cost - basically the accounting needs to be shared and transparent and the club members get the items for what they cost.

You can technically do "CL of Southern California"..There's a branding loophole under IB guidelines that allow to it.
An IB rep chimed in on that one.
Edit and when I say CL..I mean only "CL" not spelling it out to equate to club lexus either...

yep! im in too!! we could just do the same logo as CL Hawaii has or any1 can design a new CL logo for Socal?

We've thought of doing something local for SoCal for many years now. The problem lies with 1) The CL logo and proprietary rights to the name and etc. 2) The cost and amount of order. It's something that can be done, but we need to design a unique logo for CL of SoCal.

I have a very good connection with Turn 3 Creative (apparel company for Five Axis) http://turn3creative.com/launch/ to print our shirts. They were the ones who printed up our EOS V.7 NorCal @ Lexus of Stevens Creek shirts for last year's EOS.

1. if we could omit the L emblem logo like what CL hawaii did...does that solve the issue?

2. who here is a graphic designer? LOL...but what type of logo for CL of SoCal are you looking for?

Actually Internet Brands, the owner of CL owns the logo and all the rights to the site. DaveGS4 does not have it trademarked.

As long as there is no Lexus style or proprietary fonts, logos and such, we're good to go. Also since "Club Lexus" is owned by IB, we can use "CL" as it is a generic term.

I would prefer the logo to be simple and very presentable.

is this going to end up being a competition, voting on possible designs or something?

its is "Alexis 3D." that is the "Lexus" font. i don't know how its gonna work. or if it will work at all.

Guys, please don't use the exact CL logo from the site or the Alexis font (that, in combination with the "circle L" is what caused us issues with Lexus Legal on our old logo). Thanks

Well, maybe if someone can make the CL. More boxy instead of the curved C and L ?

i'm just gonna go get myself a plain white tee and scraw "CL socal" on the front using black shoe polish.

and if it starts fading, i can always "refresh" it w/ more black shoe polish.
