Hey guys, i have a question..
my parents went to UCLA and parked on a spot with a broken meter..and ended up getting a 48 dollar parking ticket..
what should they just pay it off or what?

i would fight for it since it a broken meter but you also need prove that it broken

 

I would fight it but also what is your proof. Did you take a picture of the broken meter or can anyone just walk in and say they had a broken meter.

I think it depends on the city, but I've seen notices saying it is illegal to park at a broken meter. The broken meters will usually have a bag over it saying it's broken and that it's illegal to park at a broken meter. Unless it broke while you were parked there... then you could argue that you fed the meter but it broke afterwards. good luck.

 

oh hey, so i went to UCLA once, meter was broken, i came out 2 hrs later and it was fixed with a ticket on my shield.
I wrote a letter explaning how it was broken, yadayadayada, and they checked their records, and saw that the meter was fixed, so my ticket was excused. Good luck, but do it soon before its too late.
