Default Broken Camera? is it fixable?

Does anyone know where i can take my point and shoot camera to get fixed? no warranty on it sadly, it's over 3 years old and running strong. the 2.5in LCD screen cracked. anyone know where i can take it to get the thing replaced? or where i can buy the parts to replace it myself?

I had an old camera ($150 at the time) that was broken and brought it in to Samy's Camera. The guy said they have to send it out and he said it's a $100 minimum.

ME: "Uh, no thanks. I'll just buy another one"

I would've let them fix it if it was at least $50 (1/3 of the camera).

if you find the exact same model on ebay as a parts camera (with a good LCD screen) and are handy with a small set of screwdrivers you can attempt to swap it over. just be VERY VERY careful.

what brand is it? most come out to minimum of $100. canon has a flat rate fee of $150, plus shipping.there's no need to spend over $250 for a point and shoot now days. unless you're in for a G10.

look for one that uses the same battery and charger as you have now.

I agree with the consensus here. Point and shoots are very affordable now so fixing your old one is probably not going to be worth it.

If it's a canon they have a trade-in program for old cams for new/refurbs. For the price to fix it's probably about the same/cheaper to get a new one.
