Default Lexus of Westminister 5K Service

I took my F into the dealer last week for the 5K, and because I have always run Mobil 1 in my performance cars I purchased and brought in my own oil. The service went smooth and quick, and I was out of there in just over an hour. But when I got home to put away the remainder of the oil, expecting to see 2 of the 12 quarts left, I found 4. I thought WTF don't they know this car holds 10 quarts. I checked the dip stick and found it to be 2 quarts low, so I added the additional oil, and called the service manager who apologized and said he would speak to the tech.

I have never been a big fan of dealers for minor services for the reason, I believe they are more concerned with quantity vs. quality. But for any of you with a F, you may want to check your oil level if you have had it serviced at Westminister. Just a heads up, and needless to say I will be heading back to my usual mechanic for services.

Just curious, did you leave the quarts of oil in the box?

I just had my 15k service done at Longo. I brought in my own 10 quarts of Eneos Synthetic 5w30 and left them in the passenger side for the tech to put in.

Yes I did, left 2 cases of 6 in the trunk, and told the service writer where they were.

i go to son @ dynamic auto (midway city) for 5k oil changes. he charges $20 if you bring your own oil and filter.

sorry to hear that you had a poor experience at lexus of westminster. i bring my 2is there on a regular basis, and they've always treated me right and serviced my car w/out any issues.

I have had a couple of questionable experiences there but it may just be odd coincidences. Regardless they should know the oil capacity of my car, and there is no excuse for that.

Yes the car uses 5W-30, and I prefer synthetic.

No, I was not aware that it is not. It does say "Fully Synthetic" on the bottle, and case, so what is it then?
