I agree Magmasters is completely 50/50, almost like a box of chocolates ( you never know what your going to get).

I brought my Racing Hart c2's and Scara's. They refinished them and they turned out great. A few days later, one wheel leaked air and turns out the wheel was bent. They fixed it for me at a great price and all is good.

I referred my friend to get his BBS wheels refinished and it turned out to be really bad. Refinish was good, but he had to return his wheel at least two times before they fix his air leak. Turn out to be one loose bolt.

I'm going to Wheel Repair Specialist next time.

dropped off a wheel with a bent lip to wheel repair specialists today. Last time im going to the OC from SGV around 3-4. Trip ended up taking 3 hours back and forth.

Went to magmasters first for a quote. They offered a better price, but said they couldnt make it look that same. They offered to straighten, and polish the outer lip only on my machined stepped lip with clear. So that would mean the outer edge is polished, but the rest of the lip area is still machined with a clear. This would mean my wheels would not match and I would need to do that effect to all my wheels resulting in more $$$. Seemed kinda sketchy, especially with the "no whining" sign by the counter. They also crossed out "wheel Repair" on their front sign of things they do, as if they don't wanna do it anymore.

Went to wheel repair specialists and they quoted me more, but said they can straighten, fix the whole lip, machine finishing and clear. Costs more per each wheel but even if I refinish 2 of my damaged wheels at WPR's cost. Its still only 40 bucks more than getting all 4 done with the ghetto finish in order to match at magmasters.

Ill update after I get my wheel back. If things look good im dropping off my second wheel to have done.

Well got my wheel back. They unmounted the tire. Fixed the bend, re machines the lip, shot a clear coat on the lip and remounted the tire. They charge me $150 out the door....ehhh They quoted me $140 first. Magmaster was gonna do it for $85 but not re-machine the whole lip only the outside of it.

Overall the wheel is straight. Of course it isnt exact as the other wheels cause they had to mill down the material so its a bit thinner on the edge. The one thing I noticed right away is the clear isnt the same as the original finish. Its a bit more hazy and the lip looks more whitetish compared to the original. Oh well. Let me know what you guys think. is it possible to get a perfect match? Or is this as good as it gets?

I have a minor bend also in the rear rim, its still drivable so I think imma hold out. For $150, it isnt worth fixing yet.

Thanks for the follow up, man. I think they did a decent job. I also think you can just get a better wheel polish to fix the hazy look. I forgot the brand, but if you search at the maintenance forum, there is one thread which has a thorough discussion about it.
