I have always taken all my cars to Formula1Tint in La Crescenta. Its not a shop of workers, just the owner who works by himself and pays very close attention to detail, his names Jae and hes been doing it for some 25 yrs and used to do it in Japan before he came to the states. Hes a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. You can never tell where his tints begin or end, its as if the window was tinted before installation on the car. He goes deep into the window sills and cuts it off right at the edge of the windows so its a great job. California Tint is great too but the quality of the tint job is nothin compared to Jae's and thats speaking from experience, trust me! Only guy i would trust with my tints. Hope that helps!

To add to the confusion for you central/south Orange County peeps I'm going to throw out:

Tint Connection
2490 Newport Bl
Costa Mesa 92627
949-650-8468

The shop looks awful ghetto but I have been going there for over 12 years, had at least 6 my own personal cars done there, and referred many, many people there, all with happy results.

Work is outstanding, edges clean and close, really laid back place. They do a lot of contract work for Fletcher Jones MBZ which is close by, if you are looking for a "name brand" relationship

They use SolarGard.

Default Can someone recommend me an experienced IS X50 tint shop in OC?

Hey guys,

I was looking for a tint shop that uses high quality tints and offers a lifetime guarantee in OC and my budget was about 150-200$.

Also, I want to go to a place that has a lots of experience with 2nd gen. IS's because I heard that in order to properly install the tints precisely and get the spot behind the 2 front tweeters you got to take the door panels off. I'd rather have the door panels taken off then having the tinter not tint that area. Did your tinter also get the spot on the window behind the brake light? I herd they can get that spot as well.

If you guys can recommend me a place that does these things i'd really appreciate it thanks.

Try the local section. Also make sure they don't use a heat gun, there's been some problems with our cars.

I just got my tint dont on my IS-F yesterday at Best Tint on Cerritos Ave and Beach Blvd its in Stanton. Go see Jin!

Price : 200 + 30 to take off the panels..but he waived the 30 dollar fee..so out the door it was 200

What you get: lifetime from bubble and the tint turning that lame purple color..come back and they'll fix it for free!

PM me if you wanna check out the Tint before u go get it done! I'll be more than happy to show u!

Curious on why its so bad to use a heat gun for our car?? I dont see how a simple heating mechanism could cause a problem..

Try USA tinting off Moran Street next to the Asian mall. ive used them for all my cars. Ive seen them worked out a few IS before so it should be a problem, they have really good price, dont come weeken, if you do come early, otherwise its a long wait

Try Peter-California Tint.. Just say you were referred by a prior customer (he'll then give you a better deal).

Hit up FRANK at "The Tint Specialist" in Yorba Linda. Im not sure if he's done any 2nd Gen IS's but he's well experinced and very particular. He's worked on later BMW's, Mercedes, Porches that a local dealer brings in weekly. He did my SC300 for $150 all around, 5% in the rear and 35% up front and Im a happy camper.
