I tried cleaning my MAF sensor and now my car wont start. I want to try someone elses MAF sensor on my car to see if mine is really damaged.

Can someone help me? Basically it would be you driving to where I am at. Ill remove your maf sensor and plug it into my car. I will see if it makes my car start or not. The after Ill reinstall it in your car. whole process should take ess than a half hour.

So if anyone is down just let me know what beer you like and Ill buy you a 6 pack in compensation. Let me know. PM me if interested.

Yes, you did damaged your MAF sensor. You are not suppose to clean it at all. It's not a Hot Wire type. New one is gonna be about almost $800 bucks.

Thanks. I just wanna try it to see if it solves the issue. If it does, Ill look for one ASAP on the forum. I tried getting the MAF sensor from my little bros 92 ls400. it had the same model number and everything. But didnt fit, the circumference of the hole is wider.

The car now starts with the maf on, but I gotta give it gas. If i dont press on the gas pedal it dies. And it idles crappy and when I rev white smoke comes out from the driver side area. Isn't drivable at all. I shouldnt just took it to the mechanic in the first place. Now I gotta probably pay on top of the original issue $50 + to get a new MAF sensor.

put your old MAF back on. crank the engine and feather the gas pedal to get it to start. let it idle, give it gas if it tries to die. try this.

I actually did this. That car runs really bad and I get white smoke after it starts.

Someone is nice enough to offer me a maf from a sc400. Just not sure if it will work. ill keep everyone updated.

I called them right now. they couldn't give me the years of the sc300's. Do you know by chance? They said its $100 with 30 day warranty/exchange. Checked out some reviews online for them and they were bad. You deal with them before?

i got my abs sensors from them..
100 is too much..
i know as a fact one of them is a 96 since i talked to the guy who strips the cars..

but my buddy got his sc400 maff from them for 50

I called the irwindale yard. lowest he would do is $75. I wanted to make sure what year sc it came from and he just brushed me off and said. we have that part. come get it. Imma try posting in classifieds. Hopefully someone has a working one for less.
