I thought you guys said his prices are good? On the SC430 forum they are saying in So Cal to install coilovers it should be no more than $200. guess what I got quoted? TWICE as much! $400! WTF??

 

i would agree that their prices aren't the best. but their knowledge of Lexus vehicles and customer service is on point!! I got an alignment there, and they told me that the shocks were blown and my rear tires and major toe wear. He said even if i get these problems fixed else where, I could come back and he would redo the alignment again for free. I came back, and he stood by his word

 

I mean, I think the guy is definitely honest. For my other car he told me that it's so old and has so much milage that it wasn't worth fixing (my 90' LS400) and for my friends IS300 he did give a decent price for a timing belt & 100Kmi tune up.

But god, TWICE the going rate for coillover install??? He thought I said a 92 SC. I'm like no, a 2002 SC430. He smiles and says "Oh, I haven't seen the newer ones with coilovers before, that should be interesting."

So I'm thinking he has no experience with this particular job. I would want someone experienced.

 

It's important to understand that Dynamic is a shop that specializes in maintenance and repair work and not modifications. If you need a timing belt, water pump, head gasket, etc, Dynamic is the shop for that. Son is an excellent technician and business owner. I trust him.

Son has installed coilovers and body kits. He may not have done either on an SC430 and it's partly because almost no one modifies those cars and partly because he is in the service and repair business, not the mod business.

 

good work is not cheap... cheap work is not good!

but we charge $175 here at platinum.

Try West End Alignment - Darrin. He will install your coilovers - adjust them (lower your car) to your specs/liking - corner balancing & alignment.

Keep in mind that you have to do alignment anyways after you install a coilovers. At West End, you will be paying around 400 bucks too, but you'll get everything.

PS: You HAVE to call to make an appointment and DO NOT flake.

 

hey man. i recommend hitting up Tommy at musicbox too. he will install your coilovers for u and recommend a shop for an alignment too. i feel confident the price will be lower than what dynamic quoted you. and that is with the alignment too!

 

tommy has a standard pricing for coils and springs too. he does a great job!
