We live in a fee-based society (no thanks to the liberal left). Its just going to get worse. Soon we will be taxed on breathing excessive air.

Should you breathe in more then 500 cubic feet of air per day, you'll be taxed an additional $15/cubic foot. So far, exhaling is free (but give it time).

I don't like it when you guys get new laws, it means BC isn't far behind in having something pretty much the same.

I guess they figure if someone has enough money to mod their cars, they can collect more money from them too. It's like being charged service charges...constantly...

With the new fiscal year coming up (July 1) and more proposed layoffs for the City of LA (where I'm located) and I presume other cities across the nation (Sactown as well), expect to see more cops pull you over for minor infractions. They're in dire straights to generate any type of revenue. Especially LAPD, they'll mark correctable offenses "non-correctable." This happened to me and I had to take a day off just to fight the ticket....

The state makes money with taxes, fees, penalties and fines. I actually don't have a huge problem with raising fines for stupidity like running a red or speeding in a school zone. I do have a problem with them raising everyday fees and taxes for things like property taxes, sales tax, etc... or coming up with laws that penalize simply because they need more money. Getting a ticket for texting in the crosswalk is a prime example of this.
