They want to pass a law that would get you a ticket if you talk/text on your cell while riding a bicycle!Really! NO JOKE!!
$20 first time & so forth...
Even kids/young teens will get cited
Has this state gone mad?
I wish I could give a cop a citizen's ticket

They fine you for stupidity. Stupid laws that are "out for our best interest" assuming we're all dumbasses that lack common sense.

This is ridiculous, they'll fine you for breathing too much or for changing into the next lane too quickly or too slowly next...

Awhile back I got pulled over for blue lights

Cop was like "Your lucky, I could arrest you for impersonating an officer"
I was like "Your a D**k, 500 cops have seen me with these lights & your the *** that pulled me over, did your wife not suck your **** today?" lmfao He answered my question by searching me & my car, but it was worth it

I come across it with some frequency. Dangerous. Coupled with riders wearing MP3 type player so they don't hear a thing. I also ride the river trails and they are a hazard to other cyclists. Think similar to driving a car but on a bicycle. I know a few riders who've gone down because somebody is talking on a cell phone, texting or not paying attention to others on the path They can't hold a good line so they cross over or swerve as somebody is passing them. Police won't be there to enforce that.

To some extent, these laws are Peeps should use some courtesy and realize it can be dangerous for others around them whether in cars or bicycles.

i ride and text or call all the time. not a big deal. now if i get a texting while riding ticket im gunna flip. i understand not while driving. but while riding i can do a ton of stuff on a bike with out holding onto the bars.

Who cares. They won't enforce it anyways. They don't seem to enforce dipholes that do it in their cars so what makes us think they'll enforce it on people on bikes?

I got a ticket in Fullerton for texting while crossing in a crosswalk. I guess you aren't allowed to be on the phone / texting while going through a crosswalk.
