Nice camping sites by a beach?

Hey everyone, me and some friends want to go camping by a nice beach. I would like to know if anyone has any recommendations as to a nice place within socal that offers a great camping experience. Thanks!

san clemente state beach, i used to go there every summer, just not this one... yet

what area? here in SD you can try San Elijo nice place, in Carlsbad. Probably booked for the summer.

Carpenteria State Beach in Santa Barbara county is the place for camping by or on the beach. They have different sections for tents, trailers and combination. During the summer, I believe you need reservations, otherwise chill place for camping and beach fun.
