Sweet thanks for the info James. Just dont be coming out with a T71 turbo all of a sudden =). I wanna see what times we pull with pretty much the same mods. I havent really ran this car at all on the strip/track.

Been going to Irwindale to practice on their 1/8 mile track for the last month which is held on Thursday. Ya'll need to get your game faces and come on over!

Here's a video from last night so you can get a feel of how everything works:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jAqQ...layer_embedded
1. End of the staging lane
2. Turn into burnout area
3. Burnout (if you want)
4. Move to the Christmas tree and keep moving slowly until you light up both lights
5. Yellow, yellow, yellow, hit gas, green
6. Don't let go
7. Brake at the brake signs, make the right turn off; right lane has right of way
8. Get time slip

Yeah, you actually see me stop dead at the end of the track because he has the right of way, and I need to wait until he's made the turn before I can go. He had an awful reaction time too; .500 is the best, I got a .552, he got a 1.087. Generally, a .5x is good, .6 is not bad, .7+ is bad. If you watch my other video, I go against a Corvette and the guy eats my lunch.

After running and seeing quite a few Mustangs runs, they are the most popular car there, they are pretty slow relative to the IS 350. A new looking Mustang dragged a 10.794 which is a bit worse than an IS 250 I saw at 10.552 so some of it's also due to just poor drivers.

Here's a slip of that new looking Mustang:

Back on topic though, if you are attending the drag event, you should really consider their Thursday night open drag event. $10 to spectate (el oh el), $20 to race, and it really helps in that you can get a feel for what is going on. The first time I went, I was completely clueless, and going to an all Lexus event, racing against other Lexus's, I don't think you want to be completely cluesless either

As a point of reference, the quickest Lexus at last years Pursuit ran an 8.43 on a HoT day, otherwise the ET's would of been in the 7 sec range if the weather was right

Oh yeah, but he also took out his passenger and back seat and I don't remember if his car was stock either. I'm not sure if he was still running nitrious at the time either. Tempetature wise, I don't know if cooler weather will shave off 1/2 a second... An IS F was at that track 3 weeks ago, he ran a 8.599, and than a low 8.5 than was told he had to wear a helmet (all cars under 8.599 need to wear helmets), he had to leave since his helmet in storage.

Fingers are killing me typing on a phone, and I'm about to lose receiption, wish me luck on the tables!

I was referencing last years time as what people will need to shoot for and based on the times you posted, a stock IS350 is not gonna be enough to win the lowest ET.

As a side note, he was using NOS, but the second fastest Lexus was only slower by 2 /100ths of a second and it was a Turbo'd SC.

The car that ran 8.4 has previously run in the 7's with the same set up.

The track temperatures are CRITICAL for traction, plus any FI car will run much better at cooler temps. Gaining 1/2 sec on a stock 350, probably not.

I wonder what a stock IS-F would put down in the 1/8th. Anyone know?

My biggest problem is going to be getting off the line without bogging or overcooking it. And I've not yet decided if I'm going to take this seriously and take out the spare, rear seats, raise rear end to take out some camber, setup 2-step... Wonder how contested this will be. Either way, it's going to be FUN!

^^ Trust me people took it serious last year. Because, last year next to the
fence by the entrance to the 1/8 mile.
There were spare tires, jacks, whatever people had in there trunk or back seats.
It was laying along the fence line it was pretty funny.
