He Didn't Say anything about it, they usually do. My passenger said it did smell when it got in my car earlier.

But heres the CVC code guys

#25950(A)
california vehicle code (CVC) section 25950 from the DMV website (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc25950.htm):

25950. This section applies to the color of lamps and to any reflector exhibiting or reflecting perceptible light of 0.05 candela or more per foot-candle of incident illumination. Unless provided otherwise, the color of lamps and reflectors upon a vehicle shall be as follows:

(a) The emitted light from all lamps and the reflected light from all reflectors, visible from in front of a vehicle, shall be white or yellow, except as follows:

(1) Rear side marker lamps required by Section 25100 may show red to the front.

(2) The color of foglamps described in Section 24403 may be in the color spectrum from white to yellow.

(3) An illuminating device, as permitted under Section 24255, shall emit radiation predominantly in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Any incidental visible light projecting to the front of the vehicle shall be predominantly yellow to white. Any incidental visible light projecting to the rear of the vehicle shall be predominantly red. Any incidental visible light from an illuminating device, as permitted under Section 24255, shall not resemble any other required or permitted lighting device or official traffic control device.
(bolded for emphasis)

i'm not sure what was the ticketing officer's determining factor was in citing you, but based on the above-quoted code and your description of the violation, i don't think there is sufficient reason for said officer to cite you.

It was funny, because for a good 5 minutes he was sitting in the car with me in the back, and i could see him looking through his little manual looking for the CVC code for the Yellow Headlights ticket, it was probably his first time doing it!!!

Also i would like to add this cop decided to take it to another level..
My 2IS is under my Mothers name,
So he started with this BS like " HOW DO I KNOW YOU DIDN'T TAKE THIS CAR WITHOUT PERMISSION???? NOW I HAVE TO GET A HOLD OF YOUR MOTHER TO MAKE SURE SHE GAVE YOU PERMISSION. ...

So this dirtbag sends 2 units to my house to check if my mother is there ,
and i told him she wouldn't be home till later tonight, so he kept me in the back seat for another 30 minutes, until finally he let me give him my moms phone number, after confirming, he let me go...

i swear... VALLEY BLVD is a COP ZONE!!!

i can't even go to staples to buy an SD card without being harassed on the way back!
as a suggestion, you should consider taking alternative routes to avoid that area altogether. that, or accept the consequences of driving a modified vehicle that will attract unwanted attention, especially in east san gabriel valley.

here's a tip to reduce your chances of being pulled over:
install your front plates.

Put the clears in and get it signed off. I've had a similar equipment ticket and it isn't worth the PITA to fight even though it would be dismissed.

Now you got the code section number. Now you can go raise hell. Tell them they need to go find something better to do. On the ticket, there should be the officier's name and badge number. You can report him for giving false judgement ticket.

Did you modify your DRL?

We should have an official "Just got ticketed" thread since there's a new ticket issue every week.

Maybe you should dim it down a bit. Since it's bright yellow, it might have that glare like high beam. That must be the reason why he stopped you.

I wonder what happens if the cop gives you a fix-it ticket for just stock DRL? And no matter how you explain it, he won't take it.

Court of course. You would need to tell the judge about the code section and the ticket.
