It's actually a common problem with the cd players in the IS300s. Apparently they just go bad after a while. Most threads about it that I've seen on my.is say that it goes at around 80-90k miles. I'll try to find some threads about it, or you can just search on my.is about it.

dosent the stock radio problem affect only the 2001 IS ? so far im near 120,000 miles and my radio works perfect

i pulled out the radio and turned it upside down and smack the **** out of the CD changer part and it started working again hahahha you guys can try that too
