Can't you just hammer the old one out and use a lug nut to install the new one?
I agree, just hammer it off, spray some wd40 or pb and let it sit for awhile. Thats what i did for mine.
williepee try ordering it online.. if your ever in the sgv drop by e-autoparts in san gabriel i think i got mine for like a buck or so didn't cost much.
Can't you order wheel studs from Autozone? Mine broke off so I just ordered one from there for like two bucks and put it back in. Unless I'm talking about the wrong thing.
One of mine just broke off today and my friend's shop can replace it for only $60 They're in L.A...That's where I'm heading off to next pay day.
$60? That's a bit steep. You can get a set of ARP extended studs for both the rears and do it yourself for that price.
If you look around and be patient, you'll find a good deal. I was able to replace my studs with extended ARP's all around for $80, did my own labor of course.
(Put the new stud in the freezer so it shrinks it'll be easier to install)
1. jack up car
2. Remove wheel
3. Locate stud and spray wd40/ PB
4. Slap it with the hammer till it pops off
5. Get stud and spray it with wd40 and put it in the hub
6. Apply brakes / e-brake
7. Use a nut / wrench and just tighten till its fully threaded
60 is a bit steep.. when you could do it yourself if you had a 19mm lug nut.. 19mm deep socket.. some wd40.. and jacks.. you should be able to get the studs from autozone for a couple of dollars
The tool kit and jack that comes in your car is all the tools you need. Now you just need a hammer and the lubricant.
the emergency jack should be your last resort when it comes to lifting your car. also, you might need a torque wrench to go along with the deep socket to make pressing in your studs easier
