Here are a couple of facts that I know you need to do in order to register here in Cali.
1. Car must be a 50-state car with CA emissions
2. Must past the California smog test
3. Must be taken to the DMV for inspection of VIN tags
I had to go through that when I bought my 3GS out of state. I obviously didn't have issues with a stock car but you definitely will. You can likely find someone to smog it for you (and make it pass) if you're able to get ahold of someone with 'connections'. I'd just worry about the DMV visual inspection.
Easist thing it keep it registered in FL at your parents, IMO.

Yeah I highly doubt the car would pass as sort of DMV inspection and/or smog... pretty sure the keeping it registered in FL is going to be the easiest way around all that hassle. I dont know how everyone that has a heavily modded car out there does it.

"We" do it quiet and discreetly and try to make our car less noticeable than most people on cl.
