Default So. Cal Body Shops & Paint

After searching through Club Lexus for about an hour, I feel like the popular two body shops are Platinum VIP and K&W. The only thing is the people that asked for recommendations to these shops, they never really came back with a post review? I was wondering for the people that went to either shop, do you still like your paint job after 6+ months?

I made a quick poll to see where most people went to, just to help me jump on the band wagon as well. LOL... unfortunately... sometimes I like to bandwagon when I can't make a decision.

I've seen a couple cars from Platnium VIP, they do quality work.

I've heard good things about both though, I'd go with Platnium VIP imo.

Good luck either way!

I think that depends on type of paint, and the type of work? Maybe if you're a little more specific on what you want, they can chime in.

Platinum VIP for sure

I have been going to get my cars done by Kennedy since 1997. He is a car wizard and takes pride in his work. Even if he is the owner, he still gets down and dirty and paint cars and take care of customers' rides personally.

A lot of people complained about his pricing, but what shops are they comparing it with?
You pay for what you get, PlatinumVIP offers life time warranty on the paint.

This is a Lexus forum, if you got money to buy a Lexus then stop being weak about pricing, for example to paint a spoiler, of $150 difference between Platinum and other shops.

Good input, but I don't see anyone complaining about pricing on this thread?

Another recommendation for Platinum VIP. Kennedy and Chris do excellent work and take care of their customers even after the job is completed. I had them do everything: paint the car, install wheels and tires, install coilovers along with their phantom cup kit, etc..

As far as pricing I believe that their rates are competitive with other GOOD shops, but the quality and customer service is far superior. Before visiting them I assumed that I was going to pay an arm and a leg for some paint. Lets just say that their prices were so good that I left with paint AND the front and rear cup kit.

Nice! Looking like my car might be going to Platinum VIP soon.

Sorry, not this particular thread, but in other threads about body shop. People always talk about how Platinum is more expensive. My point is, they are a bit higher, but it is well worth the price.

It's only worth the price if someone else paid for it. Otherwise, you can find a better value.

What I mean if your insurance is paying for it, then they probably do quality work.

But if you're paying out of your own pocket to get like a body kit painted ($900 bucks), it's better to go elsewhere as I did.

Gotcha. If you don't mind me asking, where did you go and how were they?
