I got stuck too, coming back from SF. First they closed the 5 and suggested the detour tothe 58 and 14, but when we got up there they closed that too.
Ended up getting on the 99 and taking the 166 all the way to Santa Maria and took the 101 south allllll the way- 11 hour trip total. I had to make it back because my gf had a job interview Monday morning.
If you're coming back from SF and the grapevine is closed I would suggest the 41 to the 101, I've done the 14 bypass and it's snowy and icy and also subject to closures.
The 166 had lots of mudslides that luckily CalTrans was doing an awesome job of cleaning up. Overall caltrans gets respect, they marked all the flooded portions of the highway and marked and cleared all the mudslides.
