Default Where to get Calipers painted?

Looking for a place that can paint my calipers. I know it's a pretty easy DIY, but I don't want to take the time to do it.

I'm in San Gabriel area (626). It's for a 2007 IS-350

Side note, is paint or powder coat better? Thanks.

Speaking of painting brake calipers...

I just spent 4.5 hours yesterday sanding down and stripping paint from the 2 front brake Calipers that Alex sold to me...It wasn't fun I can tell you that much. I guess the person who had them before Alex, didn't know that they were suppose to use caliper specific paint that's able to withstand heat and not use powder coat paint on calipers where it'll start to crack later on.

As for the paint not being able to hold up, that is not entirely true. If you prep it correctly and you good materials, and clean it regularly, the paint will last for a very long time.

Street cars don't generate much heat in their brakes calipers to deteroriate the coatings. It is not an American Le Mans Car. Even on a hot summer day after a hard drive, my calipers are still cool to touch. If its an OEM floating caliper where the pad is placed directly against the caliper, than it might be a different story.

As for car paint vs powercoat, powder coat is obviously more durable but your choices in color and color depth vs paint is limited.

Makito Nakai from Shine Auto Project painted mine last year and it is still as shiny as it did coming out of the paint booth

ill be honest.. after my commute from OC to IE everyday along with some hard braking.. my TT Calipers were never ever hot.. If anything they were warm. The rotors on the other hand were super hot.

That being said. any automotive hightemp paint can withstand the warmth. if youre going to DIY clean the calipers well, scruff it and paint. (primer/paint/clear)

Now if youre going to send it off then ide rather just powdercoat it for a longer lasting finish.

Any one have a recommendation where to get it powder coated? Does powder coating require a clear coating as well?

hey sorry for the late reply!

he charged me 100 for labor, 20 bucks for paint/clear coat. he sprayed on like 5 layers of paint/coats.

I didnt want to go through the trouble to do it myself, so i just went ahead and let Tommy do it !

the paint he used was Dupli for calipers, im not sure if Dupli has other stuff though. he Also used dupli engine clear coat or what ever it was. been almost 2 months, still looks like day one though.
