Default Please help, parking ticket (SD peoples specifically)

so basically long story short, my girlfriend and i and a few friends took her car to go clubbing in downtown san diego

Parked in a sketchy private parking lot by the company (Parking Company of America), paid in this sketchy kiosk which involves literally getting a object and pushing the money down in the allocated slot.

Went clubbing come back with a 30 dollar ticket....

I had heard from many people that tickets like this are sometimes given
out by the private company as a scandal to make money and the ticket
itself says that

This is the full description of the ticket

"This is not a parking ticket. This notice is not issued by the police or
any government agency".

The company that gave me the ticket was Parking Company of America

"Parking fee notice"

conditions. Therefore, pursuant to the terms of parking herin, you owe a

They got the plates but didnt even ID the color right.. (put down UNK).

The only concern I have with this ticket is the possible referring to the
collection agency, or that they have our license plate number. and the fact the place so sketchy. did a lot of googling and research and majority say its a scam?

Sounds like a sleezy company trying to get more money out of you.

Either way, the ticket seems completely unenforceable, from what that says, looks like the only thing they can/will do is to tow your car immediately if you park there again. I wouldn't worry about it, and just never park there again. lol

Sounds like writing that they have your license plate is just to scare you and make you think its somehow enforceable once you leave.

Thats what I was thinking, hopefully i get input from a few other people.

the only real part im scared of is the collection company (but i heard the company itself is not gonna go out of its way with the collection company for such a small ticket fine) or submitting the plates to the DMV, its not ponying up for the money, its the fact that its SOOO shady and seems like a scandal. from all the RESEARCH i did im just lucky they didnt boot the car or get a tow truck on us for "not paying". ive gotten a one or few parking tickets from the government and school in the past and trust me I paid those!

It sounds like one of those phony tickets written by security guards at my old apartment complex where they make you pay $40 for parking at the Leasing Office parking only spot. My friend got one, called and asked what they're going to do if he doesn't pay. They said they'll tow his car if he parks there again, that's it. You might want to call and ask

^ my concern is if i call and ask, theyll just threaten me with the same threats used within the ticket.

that said, theres no phone number. everything on the ticket is what i wrote down word for word. ive looked it up online and the numbers online but then again, i just foresee threats.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it was issued by a city, state or federal municipality...Which in this case, It wasn't...They're using fancy terms and relying on ignorance to sucker people into paying who don't read the fine print...Throw it away!

I wouldn't pay either,
a. They may decide it's not worth pursuing you, or their company policy may say try 2 times then give up.
b. If they do pursue you, threaten them with small claim court for time spent and emotional damages
c. If you pay them just because.... they'll try something like this on another guy
Good luck
