Default I've found good mechanic in Cerritos Area

For those of you looking for a good and honest mechanic in Cerritos area, Go see Doug Moore of Interstate Automotive. All of my Toyota and Honda have been maintained by him and I've been extremely happy. I just have the oil changed and engine air filter replaced and it only cost me $77 and he did a superb job. He himself own a Lexus.

Which one? Cerritos Lexus charges 85$ for oil change alone and if you want to change the engine air filter that is additional 100$. So, if you know any dealer that will chanrge engine oil change and engine air filter for under 80$, let me know.

lol sorry $77 is not a good price for oil change & filter.

bought ur own syntethic oil + oem filter = $35. go to any car shop, ask them to change it, mostly they charged $15-$20 for the labor.

Has he done any other services on your cars?

Timing belt (water pump, idlers, cam seals)
For those of us with the V-8's starter replacements
Alternator or PS pump changes/rebuilds
Brake service (pads, rotor surfacing, bleeding)
Coolant flush with thermostat

Turn-around times, front office dealings...

All this info will help me in organizing the FAQ for the So. Cal section on repair shops.

He has been working on my Toyota and Honda. First time for my GS. Most of the time his turn around time is within day. At times his place could be very busy and I usually call him to make an appointment. He services fleet of ambulances and he restored couple of fire engines for himself. Pleasant guy to deal with. Very honest and upfront.

Try KC Auto on the corner of South Street and Norwalk Blvd. Last time he charged me less than $55.00 for what you had done. Also, several times Lexus Cerritos tried to hose me and I went to this guy instead and paid 10% of what they were going to charge me. I have been going there for 15 years; the guy is honest and has low prices. Extremely hard to find a mechanic like him these days.

$77 for a oil change and air filter at an independent shop? Definitely not such a great deal.
