Default Looking for a place in the greater LA area ...

So I just graduated and moving up to LA from San Diego to find a job. I just had a few questions about my living situation in LA. Where is a decent place (doesn't have to be a good neighborhood per se) that's affordable and has good parking, preferably a garage ... My car is pretty low so places without underground parking with crazy inclines/dips would be best. I was looking towards el monte or somewhere in SGV since my girlfriend lives in arcadia. I was looking at places in downtown but it seems like a lot of DT LA places are way above my budget. I'm trying to find a place for around 400-600 max, and I don't mind rooming with other people. Thanks in advance!

Look into El Monte, it may seem ghetto towards the south side. But its getting much better, quite a bit of asian people are starting to move towards that area. With that price I suggest trying to find a roomie.

El Monte isn't a bad area. The city is improving its reputation and its quite close to the 10 and 605 should you ever need to get to somewhere else relatively quickly. I would also recommend Covina or even South Pasadena. That way you can be close to your gf, which is always a bonus. Monrovia in some places can be affordable, and it neighbors Arcadia. Other than that, a number of my friends have chosen Whittier/Pico Rivera near the 10 and 60 freeways to live. Its low rent, easy access to freeways, and they being close to family over there as opposed to say downtown LA or SFV, which isn't far in terms of miles driven, but factor in traffic and time, it was a better choice for them all. Best of luck in your search!

You can also try San Gabriel, Rosemead and Temple City. Those are pretty close to Arcadia. For the price you're looking for, you probably have to find a roomie.
