Bumper Repair Done Right
What's up CL,
Here's a little story I'd like to tell ya (slick Rick da Ruler)... About a month ago, on a Tuesday morning after the Monday Night meet in Ontario I try an attend. I hit a piece of tire thread driving down the I-10 Going WEST. It destroyed my front bumper.
Lets say I was less than please. At this point I had to decide wether to purchase a new bumper from Vertex that would run me about $750 (plus paint) or a new bumper from VIS that would be like $200 but need hours of work to fit correctly. I decided to get the bumper repaired instead. I found Kong at Mobile Bumper. I was very hesitant to let a traveling repair guy fix my bumper, after all this is one of my fav babies and as some of you who have met me know that I am very meticulous about this car. So Kong showed up and I let him know what I was looking for and what I expected from him, I told him he could take my bumper and take his time and do it right. He removed the bumper, repaired the bumper, re-sprayed it and came back and installed it. He also sanded and and cleaned up my headlights. See the pics.
It's not super show quality by any means, If you look very very close you can see couple of scratches still but I think for what I paid, very affordable. I can get another couple of months out of this bumper (at least the rest of the summer, pending another crazy incident) while I save up to purchase a new bumper and get that painted and installed. So give Kong a call if you need to, I did and it worked out for me.

Don't know what re glassing is exact, but from what I can see, he re inforced the bumper cracked areas, by laying down layers of fiberglass on the front and back. I don't know if fiberglass is suppose to hold up long on my car when my car is low and I scrape everywhere I go. It's doing the job though. I do have another new bumper now and will be getting that re painted so I can have two bumpers, a daily and a show bumper.
As far as what he charged that's confidential to me and my accountant. I can tell you I am very pleased for what I paid and the work that was done.
