Projector Retrofit Review: George's Custom Headlights
I've been wanting to do projectors for my IS300 for the longest time. I actually had everything planned out when I bought the car, but just never got it done since I'm so nit-picky. Anyways, for those who don't know, my HKS Bumper comes with circular 2.5" Cibie Foglights, which aren't the same as the OEM IS300 ones.
I wanted to get projectors for my foglights, so I got a set of Blazer Projectors to retrofit. But I didn't want to do it myself since I'm afraid of messing it up. All the parts have been sitting in my house for months and months. I needed to find the right person to do it for me. Finally then one day, a friend of mine recommended me George. After finding out that he's pretty much already a reputable retrofitter amongst the Acurazine crowd as well as some of the Nissan/Infinitis, I figured I'd be able to put my retrofit in good hands with him. Pricing was more than reasonable. I left my stuff with him, and he finished everything within a couple of days. You can say I'm a very satisfied customer. I'll be going to him again to do my headlight retrofit.
He recently set up a facebook page to showcase all the work that he has done to other people's headlights.
I took pictures while George worked on my retrofit for my build thread as well as to show you guys his work!
HKS Cibie Foglights, Morimoto Blazer Projectors, Morimoto 5000K 880 HID Kit
Decided to go with 5000K for a cleaner white look
Up close pictures of my HKS fogs
A few pictures of the projectors
Foglight lamp back housing cut.
Shroud removed
Lens and socket masked off, ready to paint (color is silver to match an OEM look)
Painted Silver!
Tested the retrofit for aiming
JB Welded the back to seal. He did both sides up and down the next day to secure everything safely. Basically 3 JB Welds if I'm not wrong.

You wanna do it for me?
But in all honesty, I don't know crap about that kind of stuff, and I feel like a manual swap would be needed at the same time.
I don't know how much I'll be ending up spending with a stock 2JZGTE motor with a V160 tranny, parts and labor... maintenance. And it bothers me the most with how am I gonna drive around with it without worrying about getting my hood popped.
