Default Got rear-ended, where to go to repair/estimate?

Hi all,

I live in Walnut, have been driving my "mint" 95k miles 2001 GS300 for so many years

today on the way back from Vegas on i-15, got rear-ended by a careless driver that did not stop in time
have witness and have offending party's insurance and driver license info so it will be ok on the claims front

Where would you guys recommend I go to get estimated and/or repaired?

my pregnant wife was dizzy but the baby is still beating and breathing and is still pending observation, my mother-in-law is having some sore neck from possible whiplash and chest pain from the seat belt

my 2001 GS300 is in bad shape on the rear but wasnt so catastrophic
tailights broken, trunk bent in, bumped bent in, one of the muffler fell off
possible frame/structural damage to the rear but wasnt so intrusive into the passenger compartment.

should I be taking it to Longo Lexus or just a major body shop near by will do?

Where does your insurance recommend you go? Find out and get your estimates.

should i get a lawyer?

my wife is 5 months pregnant, got checked at the hospital, will get some paperwork
has abdominal pain
mother-in-law's chest is hurting, probably from the whiplash and seatbelt

both are trying to be brave which is not necessary a good thing

offending driver is probably not well off, even if we go to court and win this, not sure how he would be able to pay all of the damages

leaking fluids
he still drove off after i took down his driver license and insurance info

note the bent rear quarter panel

these pics are not going to show much of the damage underneath the plastic bumper
but right side muffler is dragging on the ground now, probably due to frame damage

I've used James before. Hes a real good guy and he pretty much knows everyone around since he grew up in the area.
I'm guessing he also referred you to diamond hills collision over by lemon and golden springs. They do absolutely great work and more than a few members have done various custom fabrication/molding jobs there.

Make sure you take your vehicle to a dealership not aftermarket place. They will only use factory parts. Good job with getting the lawyer. Its going to be a long road so be patient. Do everything the lawyer tells you. Your wife and mother in law are going to go to specific doctors the lawyer uses. If they have neck pain or back pain they will make them go to chiropractor and physical therapy. Hopefully the guy has good insurance. The lawyer will go after his insurance if he doesnt have good insurance he will go after the persons assets. It will take forever but hopefully worth it at the end. Important thing is that your family is.ok.

sorry to hear about your car. I hope everything is okay with you and your family.

Definitely bring your car to Platinum VIP. I have been bringing my cars there since 2000s...
