Hey Rex,
I had a 2011 STi at stage 3. The cylinder #4 issue was always the biggest thing in upgrading which is why all the tuners on NASIOC and iWSTi recommend upgrading the FP, injectors and most often than not rails. When I went from stage 2 to stage 2+, I did that in preparation for stage 3. Remember too that we have 3.5L vs 2.5L in the scoobies.

Long time no see! That's awesome. He wouldn't need to leave it. We would just want to look at it for a few hours. 1 day max if he's willing. Let me know

I did the fuel pump but not the injectors or rails. Eric from Torqued Performance did the tune and we logged and logged with rom raider. Eric was happy with the tune and did mention to eventually get the fuel pump, but I had the engine problem before I did. I should have done it all at once, but in the end it worked out because I wouldn't have bought the Lexus if the wrx was still going. I had to pay $1500 out of pocket, the rest was covered under warranty and when I traded the wrx in I got $6000 more than I owed on it, which I put down on the Lex. From the small research I did on this engine, the 3.5L seems like a great engine. I was running 11.9 sec 1/4 mile at the track, that STI at stage 3 must have been low 11's, hi 10's? Awesome!

Rex, yeah good move. Although I absolutely loved my STi especially after the $20k+ i invested in it to include Stage 3 upgrade and suspension setup (RCE, upgraded FSB/RSB, engine mounts, tranny mounts, etc...) and yes I was running in the high 10's. I was put into a job that required 30 miles of DC traffic. Which if anyone around here knows DC, takes upwards of 2 hours going 5 mph. I was getting maybe 12 to 14 miles per gallon. LOL Hence why I sold it. In hind sight should have bought a beater and kept the STi. But anyways, this is a Lexus forum so we should stay on topic I guess. Still confused on why the IS ECU is so locked down. Doesn't make sense that all other vendors are easily cracked. Would love to have a COBB Accesstuner Pro for this vehicle. ECM is just PLC logic which a lot of us who are EE/ME can read. It's not difficult. Hopefully with the NX and the IS 250 coming out with Turbo's they'll unlock the ECM.
