There has been a lot of activity on the threads regarding the new STILLEN Diffuser for the 3IS and other parts we might be working on. You have all been patiently waiting so we wanted to give you a little sneak peak and insight to the design process.
STILLEN has been making body components for over 25 years and wanted to give the Lexus community an idea of the design process and what our goals our when making body parts.
When we start the parts design we look at the overall design of the car and see what body lines we can play off of and make a part that flows with the overall shape. We take smaller accents and cues into account as well to really make the parts look like they could be factory equipped. Everything here is designed and molded by hand so we can really see and feel the details. It really allow us to look at the car from every angle and get a feel for how the parts work on the car. The Poly-Urethane molds are made from the hand crafted originals are we move into production after that.
Here are some sneak pictures of what is coming for the 3IS.
***Please note: The following images may or may not represent future production pieces***
the diffuser looking good! gives it some aggressiveness without overdoing it .....is it going to be for a dual exhaust setup or quad? the exhaust opening looks wide for a dual setup

It will be for a dual setup (two single tips). The diffuser will follow the factory opening size. The car the molding was done on still had stock exhaust so the diffuser will accommodate larger aftermarket round and oval tips just fine.
what do you consider reasonably priced? do you think what their asking for the front skirt reasonable?
Their front lip is fairly reasonable. Hopefully the rear will be near that price. The eBay diffuser is around $200 and Seibon's CF diffuser is around $580.
if you look at the price for the maxima and the q50, they're either 320 (not painted) and the 374 (painted matte black). I'm going to guess it's going to be in the same range. is that reasonable?
Not bad. Hopefully there will be a groupbuy price!

that would be nice, but since we haven't seen one w/ the front skirt, it doesn't look like there'll be one for the rear diffuser. ironically, the front is priced at 286 but msrp is 355...and it's listed on stillen's site that way.
Think all manufactures do that to make it seem like it's cheaper. Still had a sale on the front splitter a few weeks after the release. I think it was roughly $268. It's somethjng!
