I guess it depends on where you are. Some drivers would let you change lane as soon as he sees your blinker. Most of the time here in MA, they completely ignore you. I will have to change mine to 5 blinks and see how it goes. As of right now, the default 3 blinks is not long enough.

Can this be used to BOTH roll the windows down AND up remotely? like i'm at home 10 yards away? i've been looking for something that can control the windows, i know the keys can roll them down, but can they roll them up?

No, it will not enable you to roll them back up with the remote fob. You have to use the physical key for that.

In most parts of the world EXCEPT North America, you can do both up and down, but Lexus has decided not to make the "up" setting available for NA markets for most models. Interestingly enough, a US-spec 2008 ES350 that we tested with, had the "up" setting available as well. So I guess it depends on the specific model as well.

I can confirm my EU model can do both. Unfortunatelly there is no possibility in EU model to lock car after shifting from P to D or to reach 15kmh. Only Lexus model in EU with such stupid settings...

Can the Carista app allow me to override the fact that I cannot enter a POI name while the car is in motion? There are several other NAV options that are "grayed out" when the car is in motion, can all of these be allowed if I use the Carista app and make the necessary changes?

No, sorry, it cannot do that. I don't thing that's a configurable setting in the car to begin with.

Guys, there's currently a hardware-level incompatibility between the ELM327 adapters that we use and the older Toyota/Lexus protocol. We're looking into options, but support for the older models is not looking likely in the short term.
