As of right now, I see no compelling reason to get the handheld ODB tuner if you already had your ECU flashed other than having the ability to swap back to stock. What am I missing?
For the same reason why somebody would change the rims on their car even though the stock ones were fine, or want the led headlights even though the 2008 headlights did the job. In the event they release a re tune due to further developement, I can easily flash it.
It can also be if your car didn't have headers/exhaust or any other mods at the time of ecu tuning but decided to get them later on and want to reflash your ecu based on your mods.

The tune is currently similar for all mods so it doesn't matter than mods you have. Ecu will adjust accordingly. The option selection when purchasing is just for data collection purposes
If you look at the ordering options on the website, the flash allows you to choose your rev limit.
The question though is can you change the rev limit after the fact, or is the rev limit programmed into the Flash device? You can load new maps and tunes but it sounds like Josh is saying the rev limit is a separate component
^^^^^^
Increasing the rev limit requires an additional reflash of the transmission control module. The trans module will need to be sent to RR to be reflashed, it can't be upgraded thru the obd port with the device.

I agree too... at this point if you already got tuned, there is no reason to buy the handheld device. We are working on some other mods which may require a remap, and in that case we can supply the OBD tuner as a package with the other mods.

So anybody who bought first with the discount will end up paying more. Shipping the ecu there and back was not cheap.
If you don't mind me asking how much was shipping it? Canadians also get killed on shipping costs, I am going to Georgia for two weeks in May I was going to take my ECU with me and ship it when I het down there.

I ship boxes everyday to USA
For that box size, shouldn't be more than 15-20$ CDN

This sounds interesting. Can you share more details on the improvements?
Us people who got the tune first, should of waited. although we put money in first which is prob more than 10k+ easily to RR racing, the tuning device seems easier, almost the same price after shipping and no down time or the stress of removing the ECU and sending it in.
As with all things technology, a few weeks into the new stuff something better comes out. It's the price you pay for being an early adopter. I'll pick up the OBD when the latest version of the tune is released, and not think twice about the extra $50 for the convenience I'll experience every update thereafter.
