What are people's opinions of decreasing the sensitivity of the knock sensors slightly?
When we data logged my KCLV with Rafi on the stock tune, mine was also in the 17s. It went up to the 20s by doing two or three pulls. I attribute my low KCLV to all the city driving I do.

My understanding from other members is that if they got the KCLV value to go up into the low 20's (whether through Torco, Octane booster, or WOT pulls in 4th through 8th) is that it stood there and didn't go back down after getting the level up unless the knock sensors detected knock, or bad gas and pulled the value (timing) back into the teens.

My initial reaction is to ask how would this be accomplished? A different tune? Different knock sensors? Are the sensors themselves adjustable?

My second reaction is negative. I bought this car because it's reliable & powerful. I would not wish to defeat this particular factory safeguard, given fuel quality variances.

If my only goal was power, I would've bought a different vehicle, like that 700+ hp Mustang.

You just gut the cat by using a long big screw driver and a hammer to break the cat inside out. You could cut and replace the cat with a pipe. What size? I'm not too sure about either?

I do a lot of city/high traffic driving too, so I'd assuming my values would be in the range. Hopefully not though. I'll find out when I can get access to techstream.

Do you have to reset the ECU before doing some 5-6 & 7-8 gear pulls to up your KCLV? Or just do the pulls as is?

I have it working on windows 10 but it won't connect to see the engine datalist. I'm pretty sure it has a compatibility issue. Time to search for an older laptop or create a VM to run xp.

I think you're right. If you can't get the right drivers, VM should work.
