Probably.

I'm guessing like shorty headers for other makes, gains aren't much over gutted stock manifolds. As we've seen, gutted ISF headers perform pretty damn good. Long tube headers are a different beast and truly do give impressive gains for the $$ spent.

Gutting to shell out for these, only to see a better version in a few months!
Hi guys, sorry CL has been taking down my edge browser recently.
There has not been a formal schedule on the EL version and it will need to be part of an exhaust system. So at this point it is still TBD.

I would be very interested to see the gains from equal length headers compared to the current version. I don't think the current version could be described as "shorty" headers. They are still a long tube design, just not equal length. The difference over stock is quite evident in all of the third party tests as well.

Correct there is still a lot of primary length currently and the existing design is quite efficient, especially with the merge collector. EL headers will improve sound primarily and pick up a little on the top end from the additional aligned pulse scavenging.

Do you think the merge collector is a better design than 2-1 or is it essentially the same? I know in the mustang world (and many other muscle cars) significant midrange torque is gained as opposed to a 4-1 design.

It really comes down to what is possible in the space and what the end use case is. Typically a 4:2:1 header works well to put midrange power because you can grab the 2 pistons that are close to 180 degree out of phase with each other. Apart from the fact that that the v8 makes this much more difficult to do, the freedom to cram it all into the area and then still make it to the factory flange makes it nearly impossible (note anything is possible given time money and removal of constraints.)
Couple that with the fact that the ratios on the tranny always put you up in the 4K rpm band, there is not much to gain with that implementation with the 8 speed. The merge collectors do place the coupled cylinders on the same pair end, meaning adjacent vs cross coupled. I think the best design is already the one that is shipping.

Just got mine last month from the Black Friday sale (direct from PPE). Wait time was worth it, Paul has excellent communication and was super helpful. The power, sound and smell (I love the catless smell) are amazing. I'm super happy, would recommend these for everyone.

Yes, EL hearers are available now. I have LTEL PPE headers with PPE dual mode exhaust. Short tube version is also available from PPE.
