Well, I installed it last night. I slept on this review before writing it. Starting off, this is the first mod I have done, that, if I had the chance I would undo.
Getting to the switch was easy enough, thanks to instructions posted by forum member MAizz. Getting the switch out, not a lot of trouble either.
IMHO, the stock switch was never meant to be taken apart. The button and ring are just too flimsy.
I got it apart, and after spending a lot of time reassembling the darn thing, when I tried to push it into the opening, it would not go. Don't know if I'm the only goof ball, but I installed the button UPSIDE DOWN!!!! Yes, the button snaps in just fine upside down. The ring is very flimsy, and the attachment points are irregular, so it has to be installed just right. This takes time.
Edit: From another post, it appears there are two versions of the button. The other version has the light source hole above the emblem And the other guy's button came with a protective of plastic over the button, mine didn't.
After taking it apart and reassembling again, I could not get the button to to sit straight flush (couldn't the first time either). It's higher on the right side than the left. I tried removing it, resetting it, but it would not sit evenly in the housing. I reinstalled everything, and it looks OK, but I know it's not evenly flush. When looked at closely, of course you can tell. The ring, although snapped in, does not feel as secure as it did prior to the button change.
Also IMO, the button finish should not be shiny, it should be matte like the OEM button because it tends to show finger prints.
Pics are attached.
Edit: I just viewed another member's post. His button came with a the light source view hole above the emblem, mine didn't And his came with protective plastic over the button, mine didn't.

I checked the instructions, I originally thought it was for the 2is/2isf so I only made a DIY thread for the 3is folks which you guys can refer from this link below.
