We don't do the coating here. It is applied like most ceramic coatings. The process is lengthy. First they therm the headers and clean them. Then they get blasted, then a base coat, then the finish coat and a whole lot of polishing with a final wipe down and cleaning. It's quite the process. Glad we don't do that here!
That seems like some really good gains on the hp & torque (especially on a stock exhaust), so what is the advantage to coating them as opposed to not.

Ceramic coatings are typically used for keeping heat in or insulating surrounding components from heat as well as the corrosion resistance from the coating.

Since these headers are stainless steel there is no concern of corrosion.

The only real benefit would come from lowering engine bay temps and the fact that hotter air flows faster, so probably a small almost immeasurable performance gain.

We may stock some pre coated ones eventually if it appears to be popular, but for now we are just building them all without coating and the customer can add that after the fact. Which can take two weeks because we will need to ship them out for coating at the time of the order and then ship to the customer when they are done.

I know some of your beta testers had aftermarket cat-back exhausts as well. Do you have any runs of the headers w/ the aftermarket catback exhausts, too?

During testing we wanted to limit variables such as different variations in the aftermarket exhaust systems. The power gains had been proven on the small group of initial test cars before we opened it up to beta testers (second round of testing) so we were more focused on overall gains and drive ability etc. I will make a note to grab some graphs of some cars with aftermarket cat back systems in the future though and post them up here when we can.
